I only just caught up with the season finale on Wednesday night, so the events of that episode are still kinda new to me. However, yeah, I felt like the premiere last night didn't actually reveal or introduce any new concepts, aside from the future!Hurley storyline.

Charlie's death seems so unneccessary to me. If the door to that little room was watertight, couldn't he just as easily have run out of the room and shut it behind him? Or tried to swim through the porthole that broke open? Totally agree about the egregious violins of heroic sadness. Blah. "He knew that he was meeting his fate" just seems like a lame cop-out.

The flash-forwards confuse me, because they're so out of order. Did you notice that Jack's drunk'n'scruffy beard in the season finale was all dark, even though his manly island stubble has grey in it? What, did they take a bottle of shoe polish to his face in the future?

Who do you think was in the coffin? I thought maybe Locke (except I doubt he'd leave the island), or possibly Hurley (except it didn't seem large enough to hold him.)

Did you stay up for the omg super sekrit Oceanic Airlines message during "Eli Stone"? It too was kinda lame.
