Haha, I know what you mean. Hell, watching him spray on the "sex appeal" in episode one to get the girl, and then spray it on to dissuade the guy made me like him, even for all his bad points. Watching Martha and Owen snark back and forth at each other would be marvelous fun. Surely one show is big enough for the two of them... isn't it?
As for Ianto turning evil, we do know that he was willing to break all protocols and general common sense for someone he cared deeply about. He could turn out to be the Willow of this show.
