So... there are comics that I think really buck this trend, and surprise me when they do. (The new Captain Britain, for example, has a female Muslim character, Faiza Hussein, who ends up wielding Excalibur! Awesome!) But you have to go through a LOT to get to that good stuff, or have a comic book expert who really knows you and your reading tastes. I'd like to see it not be like this in the future.
