That sex and bacon book sounds great! I have this book (http://mitpress.mit.edu/catalog/item/default.asp?ttype=2&tid=11404) in my to read pile, which looks as if it shares certain themes (although possibly not conclusions).
Also, I have now been vegetarian for sixteen years, and when my boyfriend cooks bacon I am still tempted. Still. :)
