Liveblogging Sleepy Hollow: The One with Historical Crazy!

* Nice use of 'inglorious', writers. Also: stoke.
* How does Crane know what the foster care system is, or how it might (or might not) work?
* "This is awkward." Way too ironic/modern. Crane would probably say something like, "This is unpleasant." Possibly dreadful.
* "Abbie, what is this drug czar/freedom fighter of which you speak?"
Spoilery notes:
* Nice hat, historical!sepia-tinted!Crane.
* Crane as advice columnist to the OnStar tech support was pretty funny.
* I love that Jenny has the kind of contacts that most PCs in an RPG setting do. Aw, poor barkeep! That'll mean he never aids the PCs again.
* During the foster mother scene: Whoa, Abbie, nice sleuthing. I kind of love her right now, and this scene with the foster mom is very good for both actresses to show off their skills. AND lock-picking?! Nice. But, wait! Jenny and Korbin were BFFs?! TWIST.
* Sextant, huh? Oh, cool, a projector. Oh, no, the PCs failed to keep the widget!
* Jenny asks good questions. How come no one else has thought to ask Crane this before?
* I can already tell that this minor villain is going to be annoying. I dislike stories that contrived solely to ask the question of, is torture ever all right? Prove me wrong, show! Argh, book of revelation! DAMMIT. Templars! Germans! Metaphor! It's the Duh Vinci Code. NOOOOO. *calms down* OK, that wasn't as annoying as I was expecting, and the meta-plot actually moved along pretty well.
* Oh, henchguys... It's a good thing that ritual of theirs had a long oil-boiling component.
* Yebisu expressed his opinion that a Scotsman would be more ruthless than a Hessian. I think that distinction would be lost on many American viewers.
* I'm glad that Abbie and Jenny finally get to have a conversation, but it's sad that it's taking place in an interrogation setting. Wow, Abbie is putting her legal life on the line. That's brave, and I like her more for it. Man, I sure hope this doesn't mean that Jenny's marked for imminent death, as Yebisu speculates.

Date: 2013-10-08 10:04 am (UTC)I've been assuming Jenny would be an ongoing character, but of course anyone who Knows Things must die so that Abbie and Crane can't get answers too quickly. *sigh* Don't go there, show. You're making me far too happy to go there.
Watched late last night and had to keep propping myself up, so no real opinions yet, except I felt like there was a change of tone this week. Hmmm.
