retsuko: (inu-what?!)

To my friends who have seen the "Death Note" live action movie: is it worth seeing on the big screen?

And is it worth paying $11 a ticket to do so, or should I just Netflix it and be done?

Is the movie disappointing, compared to the manga?

I was pretty excited to see that AMC is showing it in May, but then the preview looked really convoluted and I thought I might want to get some outside perspective before I bought anything.

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm, I d/l'ed that first movie a while back and if I remember right, I wasn't THAT impressed with the way they handled it. Raito didn't sit right with me...but oh, was L dead on. :) I'd say you're better of renting it.

I would really like to see L, too. But if Raito/Light/what-eva isn't all that great, the cat and mouse could be pretty disappointing.

I can't say. I'm planning to see it in a theater in May with friends, but if I hadn't been invited by casual friends I'd like to get closer to, I doubt I'd have made the plan to trek out to a theater to see it.

OK, that settles it: Netflix it is!

I'd netflix it. The effects were lousy.

Aw, rats! The one thing I had heard was supposed to be good! Ryuk needs to be properly menacing. :/
